“Plug and play ” is a term that should be used loosely when it comes to any modification – be it a car, motorcycle, website, or your soon-to-be electric boat. It’s been a short while since we’ve given an update on our second electric boat project i.e. the mighty Tollycraft…but nonetheless there has been significant and well needed progress. Stan, our colleague from Stratos Yacht Services, and the third ‘mastermind’ to join Bluefin has been busy prepping the new home for the compact yet powerful 9kW motors. Are you ready for Electric Boat Motors? [Video]

After taking a short break in September, the Bluefin team is back at it and still on schedule for the first splash before Christmas! The bilge has been gutted, cleaned and ground down ready for a new gel coat. The propellor shafts have been straightened, we have new cutlas bearings, the props are cleaned and the electric motors have arrived- all 90lbs of them!  In the picture below I have the past and the future in opposite hands.
